Toddler killed in Crewe house fire

A house went on fire in Cheshire and unfortunately a two-year-old boy died. The fire crews were called before 9.00am to a terraced house in Myrtle Street, Crewe. Immediately 4 of the firefighters went into the house and came out with the kid of two years old. They found him in the bedroom, but he was already dead. He was not the only child in that house, a baby and a three-year-old, were also in there. Their mother lowered them from the first floor window to their neighbours. Many people were taken to hospital. These two children, the parents, and two neighbours. Now the police are investigating the cause of the fire. They believe it all started in a back bedroom. The group manager at Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said that when the help arrived it was an extremely chaotic scene, many neighbours were in the street and the house was all on fire. He also said that the idea of getting the children out of the house saved their lives. He advises people to get smoke alarms in their homes, because this can avoid this sort of tragedy.

Fire sceneReaction:
This is a real tragedy, I cannot imagine how the parents of this baby boy are feeling right know. This is why I do not like to read the news; they only have bad things going on. It is really hard to understand why a baby can dies like this. I think it was irresponsible of the parents, because how could the fire start? I agree with the group manager when he says that people should try to prevent these accidents by getting smoke alarms. This might not be the solution but it can help.

  1. This is a horrible news but it happens. I think this was an accident and agree with you when you say that it was the irresponsibility of the parents because in the first place they should not have left the little boy alone at home. I also think that everyone should try to prevent this kind of accidents by useing smoke alarms or smoke detectors and off course never leave their children alone.

  2. It is a terrible story. Ofelia said that the parents left the little boy alone at home, but I did not read that in the summary. There is not written that the parents were not home. Maybe they just could not save the little boy because of the fire. It must be terrible for them. Maybe there should come an obligation on fire alarms or smoke detectors, so that more lives can get saved.
